The Island of Doctor Moreau
This was an assignment I did for one of my foundational classes in my sophomore year. We had to adapt a part of a book, and at the time, the book that was occupying my imagination was "the Island of Doctor Moreau", and this scene in particular. This was at a time when I LOVED crosshatching, and so I wasn't really paying attention to how I should use my lines, just that I wanted a LOT of them. But, oh well, that's what art school is for.
This was a small little story for a Self Publishing class that got unfortunately neutered by COVID. I wrote it while I was reading a lot of Lovecraft and watching a lot of MST3K, so there's the mystery of its inception solved. I also remember all my other story ideas for that class sucking, so that might answer another question.
