The Machine is a sprawling, subterranean labyrinth of pipes and mechanisms with the purpose of holding up the surface of the Earth. Plato is a life long engineer of the Machine and Andrea is his new apprentice. Plato is an enthusiastic teacher, as once he's trained Andrea up, he'll be allowed to add on to the Machine. Andrea, however, isn't just there for the job. She's heard stories about the Machine reaching the Underworld, and now she's on a quest to find her Grandma.
